LOT 665 - 751 A French silver tureen with cover and a pair of double-lipped silver sauce boats

Circular form, the whole plain polished, with a domed lift-off cover topped by a cast pinecone finial on an applied embossed acanthus leaf circular mount, plus inscribed monogram "CA" , looped and fluted stem handles to each side, both bursting from embossed foliate mounts, together with a pair of large silver double-lipped sauceboats, Elkington & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1898, incuse stamped 20115, with later Egyptian marks to base 1951-53 , of shell-like organic form, heavy gauge, double lipped with wavy edge, embossed shell-like fluting, to each side a vacant cartouche and a spray of high relief flower heads, all raised on a domed pedestal base with gadrooned shell-form rims, weight 82oz .
