Description

Each intricately worked in silver wire of varying gauge and forming a mirror i-image of the other, each with two red-crested cranes foraging for food beside stems of bamboo on one side and a solitary standing crane on the reverse, their feathers delicately worked in sculpted and tapered wire, all reserved on a midnight-blue ground; each vase applied with gilt metal rims and feet, the neck and foot with a narrow band of stylised sprays of white buds, each vase signed on the base Nagoya Hayashi saku with the stamped lozenge-seal of Hayashi Kodenji.
