In-8°, two special issues grouped into a single volume of one of the oldest cultural, scientific and literary publications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Monthly founded in Medina, with the approval of the authorities, in 1355h (1937) by Abdelkadous El Ansari (1906-1983), printing is done first in Medina then in Mecca from number 4.
Abdelkadous El Ansari was its owner and publisher until his death. A man of letters and dynamic researcher, he surrounded himself with a solid team of intellectuals in various fields: science, literature, poetry, linguistics, historical research and archaeological work.
The journal was pioneering for various reasons, including the publication of the first short stories in Saudi literature; it also opened its pages from the first issues to Algerian independence activists to make their cause known. For these reasons, it enjoys a prestigious and important reputation in the Arab-Muslim world.
