Assen Ludwig Alexander, Count of Hartenau
Assen Hartenau (born January 16, 1890 in Graz, † March 15, 1965 in Vienna), born Assen Ludwig Alexander, Count of Hartenau, was a Ministerialrat and section chief in the Austrian Ministry of Finance, responsible for the national debt.
Hartenau studied law at the University of Graz, obtaining his doctorate there. jur. and entered the diplomatic service. In 1919 he became deputy head of the liquidation of the joint Ministry of Finance. From 1922 to 1928 he was technical representative of Austria at the Paris Reparations Commission. Appointed a court councilor in 1931, since 1932 he has been head of the public debt department of the Ministry of Finance. He married Bertha Hussa-Lamos (1892-1971) in 1934 and adopted her son Wilhelm (1915-1991).
Hartenau's grave is located at the Döblinger cemetery.
