Acquired by Richard C. Rapier (1836-1897) of Ransomes and Rapier, who was involved in railway construction in China, and then by descent.

Description

The plaque is carved and pierced with a writhing dragon between a bat and a bird amongst flowers and foliage. The stone is of an even celadon tone with very small russet inclusions.
