Naples, circa 1730-1740, attributed to the workshops of Antonio de Laurenzii.
H. 14.5 cm - W. 19.5 cm - D. 14.5 cm
(Some missing parts of the marquetry, but complete with all its utensils).
The workshops of "Laurenzii" or "Laurentii" are often distinguished by the exclusive use of gold on the tortoiseshell and not mother-of-pearl. Certainly a goldsmith originally, we know of Laurenzii"s production a ewer and its basin, a pair of candlesticks that were part of a toilet set in the former collection of Robert de Rothschild.
