General dance (of death)
(Facsimile) "GENERAL DANÇA (DE LA MUERTE)".- Whose original manuscript is preserved in the Library of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, with the signature b. IV. 21. A Coruña: Boreal, 2002. Smaller folio, contained in a full leather case with hinges and dry embossing on the top, contains a reproduction of the manuscript, of the woodcuts (en rama) and vol. of studies. eg num. 742/995. The Dance is from the beginning of the s. XV, and consists of more than six hundred verses, in which death invites various characters to dance, such as the Pope, the Bishop, the Emperor, the Labrador, etc. This current, with death as its main theme, ended up developing throughout Europe from France; in front of her there was no Christian resignation, but terror for the loss of earthly pleasures.
