"BOOK OF HOURS OF THE MEDICI" .- M.: Testimony Ed., 1994. The original of which is preserved in the Library of the Lázaro Galdiano Foundation. Content in original case, next to vol. of studies, it is accompanied by a magnifying glass to facilitate its reading. 65 mm., full leather, metal clasp closure; golden cuts. Numbered example limited to 980. It was commissioned by Pope Leo X as a wedding gift for his nephew Lorenzo II the Younger with Madeleine de la Tour. Its illumination was carried out around 1518 by some of the most prestigious Florentine miniaturists: Giovanni de Giualiano Boccardi, Boccardino the Elder, his son Francesco di Giovanni Boccardi, Boccardino the Younger and Stefano di Tommaso de Giovanni (Lunetti); For this reason, this codex is also known as the Boccardino Codex.
