Description

The rectangular vessel is raised on four tall angular scroll feet with taotie masks. Each of the wider side of the body is carved in shallow relief with two adorsed angular dragons flanking a four-character archaistic inscription<br/> the narrow sides with two dragons facing opposite directions flanking a lion-mask handle<br/> all below a pair of upright bail handles. The cover is similarly decorated on each side and surmounted by an openwork lion and cub finial<br/> and the base carved with an apocryphal Qianlong four-character seal mark. The semi-translucent stone is of an icy sea-green tone suffused with bright green veins.
