Vishnupersaud and Gorachaud, probably anglicised versions of Vishnuprasad and Gorachand, were considered to be two of the finest Indian botanical artists of the time. Nathaniel Wallach was the superintendent of the Calcutta Botanical Garden from 1815 - 1846 which is where they probably met each other. His work was issued in an extremely limited edition of only two hundred and fifty-four copies and the works are considered to be some of the finest botanical illustrations ever done.
