Framed. The scrolling foliate extensions of red, pale blue and green on a ground of pink and deep blue with white filigree decoration is characteristic of Bolognese manuscript decoration of the first half of the 14th century (see, for example, Cambridge, Fitzwilliam Museum, MS McClean 201.9b and 201.9e). The format indicates makes it likely that the intact manuscript would have been a large choirbook.
