St. Louis Bible
(Facsimile) "BIBLIA DE SAN LUIS".- The original of which is preserved in the Treasury of the Santa Iglesia Catedral Primada de Toledo. Larger folio, suede leather with metal clasps and golden cuts, in an editorial leather case with gold embossing. 3 vols. Ed. Moleiro, with notarial deed no. 580/987. Accompanied by a study book and another that transcribes the texts. Monumental work of what was the bible of King Saint Louis of France and later of Alfonso X the Wise, who in his will classifies it in the rank of "noble things belonging to the king". Given the richness of its miniatures, the pages are only decorated on one side, as they would not hold the load of paint on both. The entire Bible is presented as a totum continuum, headed by a large miniature page (God Architect of the Universe) and a final closing miniature, also full page (Queen Blanca and her son Luis at the top and the artisans of the codex at the bottom), which indicates that the book has been conceived as a large unit.
