Frame in the shape of a quadrant with two sides in oak, one side with a partly hand colored engraving, with 90 degree scale along the curve, a ”Zodiacus calendarium”, ”Horolabium universale”, ”Calendarum Hebdomadicum”, scales and a compass.
Petrus Elvius or Per Elvius the Elder, was born in 1660 in Rättvik. He studied in Uppsala and excelled in Mathematics. He became Professor in Mathematics and Astronomy and he was Vice-chancellor at Uppsala University.
