A fine and exceptionally rare highly impressive and ingenious nickel-plated travelling cocktail compendium, consisting of a fine silver plated cocktail shaker, comprising of a fine array of accessories inside with three frosted glass spirit flasks with nickel-plated screw caps, complete with their glass internal stoppers, a stacking set of four beakers with gilded interiors, a double cocktail jigger and lemon juicer, with three tots over the lids of the bottle tops, with gilt lined interior. They all cleverly packed into the outer casing which itself serves as a cocktail shaker, the top with integral strainer. The perfect set for the traveling motorist to partake of liquid refreshment on a journey. In absolute pristine condition throughout.
The firm of J.A. Henckels were very well known for their innovative and ingenious pieces designed with the long-distance traveller in mind. From the 19th century onward, they were responsible for many different types of travelling drink and picnic sets, intended for use in circumstances where the availability of refreshment was uncertain. They are particularly well known for their 'Zeppelin' and 'Zeppelin Airplane' design of travelling cocktail sets.
