Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear, crackled glaze, the first with a squat body, sloping shoulders and an elongated, flaring neck decorated with long-tailed swallows and wisteria vines, the base painted with umbrellas and various toys, signed Ryōzan tsukuru kore ; the second, an elongated ovoid vase with beauties enjoying a garden and cherry blossoms and flowers in bloom, the surrounding areas with cartouches of floral stands, signed Shōzan and with the Shimazu crest; the third, a globular vase with shaped panels of Lohans and their attendants, surrounding areas with formalized brocade patterns, signed Dai Nihon Satsuma Yuizan zo and the Shimazu crest.
