Producer Mervyn LeRoy"s Historic Personal Art Department Script with First Edition Illustration Plates and Other Production Materials for The Wizard of Oz .
MGM, 1939. Vintage studio bound and bradded, 126-multi-color revision page script dated 7-16-38 and credited as written by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allen Woolf. Revision pages dated as follows: blue pages; 6/20, 6/27, 7/1, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16 and 15-pink "Additions and Changes" pages "as per script of 7/16/38, E.Y. Harburg 2/14/39." Cover bears the MGM Script Department sticker, stamped "File Copy", as well as "Return to M-G-M Art Dept." In addition, a vintage hardcover edition of the L. Frank Baum "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" novel has been cut up for cover images and title to be pasted on the studio wrappers and all of the book"s illustration plates and some text pages have been extracted from the book and placed in a paper flap pocket on the interior back cover with pages ink stamped; "Return to M-G-M Art Dept." Exhibiting age, production handling, and some dog-eared pages. Accompanied by the original vintage transmittal envelope with MGM mailing sticker addressed to Mervyn LeRoy at his Bel Air, California home address.
Also includes 4-pages of Special Effects shot list (undated) reading in part; "1. Kansas Farm A. Cyclone Approaching Kansas Farm, B. Hitting Farm, C. Lifting Farm House Into Air, etc." to "12. Wicked Witch Sky Writing Over Emerald City, 13. Ext Roof of Wizard"s Palace, A. Good Witch"s Bubble Appears - Bursting Reveals Good Witch, B. Woodpecker Causes Wizard"s Balloon to Burst, C. Dorothy Starts to Work Spell to Go Back to Kansas" and a 14-page Temporary Schedule (June 8th, 1938).
